I’m a 60-something-year-old woman navigating life’s twists and turns, detours and dead ends—sometimes gracefully, sometimes like a cat skidding across a hardwood floor. I’ve seen my fair share of challenges, from childhood trauma to understanding that being adopted at birth doesn’t define me, to finding my way out of Mormonism (and let’s be honest, that was a journey).
Therapy? Oh, I’ve done my time on the couch, and I can confidently say it was worth every tear, every hard truth, and every “aha” moment. The last few years, in particular, have been the most transformative, thanks to an incredible therapist who has helped me unpack everything—failed marriages, questionable relationship choices, and all the messy stuff in between.
But here’s the good news: Life can still be sweet. Maybe not in a neat, picture-perfect way—more like a homemade pie that’s a little lopsided but still delicious in all the ways that matter.
I’m sharing my journey here because if my experiences can bring comfort, encouragement, or even just a knowing laugh to someone else, then it’s worth putting it all out there. We’re all just figuring it out as we go, and if nothing else, I hope my words remind you that you’re not alone.
So grab a cup of coffee (or something stronger, no judgment here), and let’s navigate this wild, unpredictable, sometimes messy, but still beautiful life together.
